International scientific-practical conference on “Modern city: power, management, economics” was organized in Perm city (Russia) on 14th December 2023. The forum, held in a hybrid format, was initiated by the Perm National Research Polytechnic University. The conference, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Perm city, consisted of plenary presentations by invited experts and three working sections on the following topics: “Branding territories and self-organization of geoculture”, “Sociocultural and historical space of a modern city” and “Modern technologies of city management”. The forum discussed challenges associated with the implementation of Goal No. 11 (“Ensuring cities and human settlements are inclusive, safe, resilient and environmentally sustainable”) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The plenary report of the IICAS representative on the topic “Heritage Impact Assessment for Sustainable Urban Development” aroused great interest. Conference participants learned about the evolution, principles and examples of heritage impact assessment instrument.
