The International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) would like to announce the distribution of grant funding in 2024-2025. The application received in 2023 were reviewed and selected by the members of the Academic Council and approved at the 16th Session of the General Assembly of the Institute held in November 2023 in Tashkent:

1. Publications:

- The Calligraphy on the Silk Roads;

- World Heritage Nomination «Silk Roads: Zarafshan-Karakum Corridor»;

- Kafir-Kala: Archaeological park using innovative communication technologies;

- G.N. Kurbanov. Seals (Tamgas) and amulets from the collection of the Bukhara State Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve (Catalogues);

- Scientific album for the exhibition «Jews of the region in the past and present» of the Samarkand Museum of Local Lore;

- Paleogeography of the Early Quaternary Period of the Western Tien Shan;

- History and memory: Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

 

2. Research:

- Preservation of cultural and natural heritage and socioecological challenges in the Tajikistan mountains using the example of the highlands of the Zarafshan Valley;

- Multidisciplinary research at Kuduk Bulak: a newly discovered Bronze and Iron Age site in southern Uzbekistan;

- Material culture of Bukhara oasis of ancient time (pottery production);

- Digital documentation of ancient rock paintings in Mulkhow valley, Upper Chitral district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan;

- A comparative study of the role and status of women in Iranian and Turkic regimes from the Sassanid period to the Ilkhanid period (from the 3rd century AD to the 14th century AD).

 

3. Seminars, conferences, workshops.

- International scientific-practical seminar «Non-destructive methods in preservation of objects of historical and cultural heritage of Central Asia»;

- Cultures and Civilizations of Central Asia from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages: international scientific conference dedicated to the 120th anniversary of A.M. Belenitsky, 95th anniversary of V.M. Masson and 100th anniversary of Y.A. Zadneprovsky.
