The IICAS is happy to announce the release of a publication in the Russian language by M. A. Yusupova-Abbasova, BUKHARAN SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE IN THE 15TH-17TH CENTURIES (Distinctive Features and Paths of Developments).
The book tells in an interesting and accessible form about the evolution and regularities in the development of the architecture in the Bukhara oasis and the city of Bukhara during its heyday in the 15th -17th centuries, reveals its artistic, typological, constructive and local features, as well as mutual influences between the Bukharan architecture and the architecture in other regions of Central Asia and the Middle East. This is the first work presenting a number of poorly studied structures and new data, as well as analytical tables, where the author systematizes the typological, constructive and decorative features of architecture in the oasis. The contents of the text are illustrated by more than 300 images and drawings, which include some rare and historical and archival materials, as well as those that have never been first published before.
Publication of the English version of the monograph is expected in the nearest future.
