On 25 January, the representatives of IICAS met in Dushanbe with Zulfiya Burkhon, Executive Secretary for the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO. At the meeting the parties discussed joint projects between IICAS and the National Commission, including the promotion of the Silk Road: Zarafshan – Karakum Corridor nomination, as well as possible ways for further cooperation between the organisations.

The researchers from the International Institute for Central Asian Studies also met with N. K. Ubaydullo, director of the A. Donish Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan. 

The two institutes have been good partners for quite a while. IICAS presented the library of the A. Donish Institute with a large number of books, including its most recent publications, and received an equally valuable gift in return – publications by the A. Donish Institute.
