The second annual meeting of the Coordinating Bureau (CB) of the Silk Roads Living Heritage Network (SRLHN) was held in Istanbul/Turkey on 23 October 2022 (first meeting was organized on 29 October 2021 in online format). The meeting was organized by the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP) during “Bosphorus” International Folk Dance and Music Festival in close collaboration with International Institute for Central Asia Studies (IICAS), European Association of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts Association of Turkey (TAA). Opening remarks to the participants of the CB meeting were delivered by Director-General of the ICHCAP (Mr. Jisung Kim), Director of the UNESCO Beijing Cluster Office (Dr. Shahbaz Khan) and Chairman of the TAA (Mr. AhmetAksan). Members of the CB from 9 countries (Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan) attended the meeting. The agenda of the meeting included consideration of the minor adjustments to the Statute of the SRLHN and Rules of Procedure of the CB meetings, adoption of the annual report of activities and examination of proposals for 2023 work plan. The meeting approved two new partner organizations for the SRLHN: International Centre for Documentary Heritage under the auspices of UNESCO and Busan Foundation for International Cooperation. Regarding institutional membership the CB took decision on inscription of the 16 ICH festivals to the Network. Thus, the total number of ICH festivals-members of the SRLHN achieved 39. Members of the CB also had an opportunity to discuss preliminary proposals on long-term and mid-term strategy of the SRLHN the draft of which will be elaborated jointly by ICHCAP and IICAS by the first quarter of 2023. At the end, participants examined suggestions on the date and venue for the 2023 SRLHN CB meeting.
