IICAS and the Mongol Koosen College of Technology

On 23 June 2020, a video-conference with Prof. Sergelen Munkh-Ochir, the Founder and Director of Mongol Koosen College of Technology and Mr. Tuguldur Batbayar was arranged with support by Mr. Munkhbold Badarch as a first step toward establishing mutually beneficial cooperation between IICAS and the Mongol Koosen College of Technology.

A number of ideas and suggestions for prospective cooperation, including the exchange of technologies and know-how, mobility of students and researchers was shared to ensure that the potential of both institutions is fully uncovered and mobilized to benefit Mongolia and the rest of the Member States of IICAS.

The Mongol Koosen College (https://www.mk.edu.mn/) of Technology was established in 2014 under the auspices of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and is the first institution outside of Japan to follow “Kosen” Japanese education system developed following the end of the Second World War to expedite the training of engineers. The first cohort of 64 students graduated from the College in 2019 to be now employed by leading Japanese companies or continue education in Japan. Currently, the College has 276 students and employs 30 instructors as well as 18 staff members.
