A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) and the Center for Promotion of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan “Living Heritage” represented by the Director Lutfiya Khamidova.

The MoU has become the first step toward building successful cooperation between the institutions in the field of culture, art, their promotion and awareness raising.

A joint publication of an illustrated album “Traditional crafts of the Silk Road” dedicated to the crafts and traditional know-hows of the countries along the Silk Road has been identified among the key activities on the first stage of cooperation. The publication is expected to offer a brief overview of crafts and skills as an integral part of common intangible heritage shared by a vast geographical region.

A number of consultations attended by the experts from both institutions has been arranged to discuss the matters related to the ongoing cooperation.
