On 12 February 2020, the 22nd session of the Academic Council of IICAS took place in Bern, Switzerland with support from the Society for the Exploration of EurAsia and the University of Bern.

On 12 February 2020, the 22nd session of the Academic Council of IICAS took place in Bern, Switzerland with support from the Society for the Exploration of EurAsia and the University of Bern.
The session, which gathered the members of the Academic Council representing the Member States of IICAS, was also attended a few honorable guests. In particular, it was our honor to host His Excellency Mr. Mohammad Reza Haji Karim Jabbari, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Switzerland, and Her Excellency Ms. Hanum Ibragimova, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IICAS and the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation represented by Ms. Gunay Afandiyeva was ceremonially signed to mark a new stage of cooperation between the institutions.
The welcoming speeches by Dr. Dmitriy Voyakin, Mr. Jan Hladík and Ms. Gunay Afandiyeva were followed by a detailed report on the achievements in the years 2018 and 2019, the plan, and the budget for the years 2020 and 2021 for further consideration by the General Assembly of IICAS.
Special attention was given to the applications for biannual grants submitted to IICAS for consideration. After a series of consultations, the recipients of the IICAS grant were identified. Official announcement will be made in the shortest time.
