From July to November, 2021, at the invitation of the Institute, Ms Anna Yevsyukova, a student at the Faculty of Geology and Geography of the Orenburg State University (OSU), Russia, was doing an internship at IICAS. Over the mentioned period, she took part in a number of field expeditions, acquired basic knowledge of GIS as applied to documentation of cultural heritage sites, and, as a volunteer, she contributed to organization of international forums and related events.
Anna took away an invaluable source of knowledge to her homeland. On January 27th, 2022, an extensive selection of IICAS scientific publications was gifted to Irina Yu. Filimonova, the Head of the Department of Geography and Regional Studies of OSU. The library of the University was thus replenished by books on architecture, archeology, history, and tourism, which is sure to enrich and expand the wealth of knowledge of the students in Orenburg.
Orenburg State University expressed its sincere gratitude
to IICAS for such a salient and sizable contribution to the building of
capacity of young researchers.
