"Medieval glazed ceramics of Ganja (9-14th centuries)"
"Medieval glazed ceramics of Ganja (9-14th centuries)" is one of the most interesting studies carried out within the framework of the implementation of two-year budget projects of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) in 2020-2021 by a group of researchers from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The study aims to present to the academic community the new unexplored complexes of glazed ceramics of Ganja, their chronology and identify the cultural ties between Azerbaijan, Iran and the historical and cultural regions of Central Asia, especially Khorezm.
The project will be based on the study of materials of the fund of the National Museum of the History of Azerbaijan. Ceramics in the museum's collection will provide valuable information about the socio-economic and trade relations of the Caucasus with the countries of the Middle East, Central Asia, the Volga region and China along the routes of the Great Silk Road.
The implementation of the project will undoubtedly contribute to the opening of new pages in the history of the study of the arts of Azerbaijan, Central Asia and the Middle East, and support the study of the mutual influence between the schools of ceramists in Azerbaijan, Maverannahr and the Volga region.
