Over the 23 years of its existence, the Institute has issued more than 60 scientific publications that have become the result of the scientific and research activities of the Institute. In addition, IICAS has been publishing the journal IICAS for more than 10 years. The journal is published twice a year in Russian and English, and is on the list of the Higher Attestation Commission of Uzbekistan. All publications of the Institute are distributed free of charge and are available to everyone. IICAS, independently or in cooperation with UNESCO, organizes international scientific conferences in which dozens of leading scientists from Central Asia and the world have already taken part. Many of the IICAS publications are bilingual and are prepared in English and Russian.

The given publication represents the French approach to the English term «the bioarchaeology». This new, but establish edits good reputation, school is open for debates. Nowadays, it can propose the newest methods of research demanding the complicate laboratory analyses. In the modern Central Asia the archaeological works increase in geometrical progression: they are both traditional and preventive excavations. This work is neither completely specific nor too general in character; and it may introduce new methods, approaches, experiments, and thereby, stimulate the development of ideas and academic dialogue between scholars of different countries.

Present publication includes the presentations of the participants of the International Scientific Conference “Islamic Values of Central Asia: Tolerance and Humanism. Historical, Philosophical and Cultural Aspects”, which was held on June 26-27, 2007 in Tashkent. Conference was taking place as part of the events dedicated to the decision of the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture under the auspices of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to declare Tashkent as the capital of the Islamic culture in 2007.

It reflects the history of development and the current state of the traditional artisanship in Tajikistan. The publication summarizes the studies of a wide range of traditional crafts such as pottery, embossing, jewellery, wood carving, production of wooden and leather vessels, stone and alabaster carving, and decorative painting on alabaster, wood and papier-mache. Publication also includes the information on the decorative gold embroidery, which represents one of the most spectacular samples of decorative crafts of the Tajikistan.

Description: Present publication is the third volume in a series devoted to the folk arts and crafts of the Central Asian communities. It reflects the history of development and the current state of the traditional artisanship in Kyrgyzstan. Publication consists of two parts. The first part is focused on the pieces of ancient and medieval art left by the population that occupied the territory of Kyrgyzstan since the Bronze Age. These are the splendid samples of ancient jewellery, made of bronze, gold, ivory, often with intrusions of jewels and precious stones. There are also arms, pottery, cult items and different utensils. The visual components of these artefacts were particularly diverse. The second part of the publication focuses on the folk art and crafts of Kyrgyzstan, including the unique architectural form of yurt.
