The International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) as a partner of the Kazan Federal University (KFU) and the Khalikov Institute of Archeology, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, announces the International Conference for Restoration, Conservation and Museumification of Archaeological Wood and Organic Materials.

The conference will cover a wide range of issues related to the study of wet cultural layers, conservation, restoration and display of archaeological objects made of wood, bark, leather and other organic materials, as well as to the practice of exhibiting archaeological wood and monitoring its state in museum conditions.

The conference programme includes a general plenary session, breakout sessions with presentations, a round table, and a welcome dinner.

Extensive business and cultural programmes will be offered during the conference.

Conference date: from 1 to 5 November 2022.

Venue: National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan

The conference will be organised in in-person and online formats.

Conference working languages: Russian and English.
