On December 3, 2022, International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) hosted within its walls a meeting with the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia headed by His Excellency Dr. H. Sunaryo Kartadinata, M.Pd. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyzstan Republic.

The meeting took off by greeting speeches delivered by Dr. H. Sunaryo Kartadinata and IICAS Director Dr. Dmitry A. Voyakin, after which the members of the Embassy delegation and the IICAS employees in attendance of the meeting were all introduced to each other. Thereupon, Director of IICAS delivered a brief talk on the history of the Institute, clarifying the principal lines of activity of IICAS, and the achievements made by IICAS over the recent years.

The main core of the meeting agenda were discussions of the IICAS cooperation with Indonesia’s National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN), the fields of collaboration across the lines of endeavor of both the organizations, and the decision to hold an online Zoom-powered meeting with representatives of the Agency, and the official signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation.
