International Symposium 2020 “Museum and Local Community”
The Secretariat of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) invites you to participate in the ACCU International Symposium 2020 “Museum and Local Community” organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of the Asia-Pacific Cultural Center of UNESCO (ACCU), Nara, Japan in cooperation with the Japan Consortium for International Cooperation in Cultural Heritage and supported by the National Research Institute for Cultural Properties and the Nara Prefectural Government. The event will take place on December 22, 2020, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Japanese Standard Time.
The third event in a series on the topic, the symposium will highlight the roles of museums and local communities and focus on the interactions between them. Museums are today called upon to play a central role in a wide range of areas, including culture, education and economics, thus contributing to local and regional development. The symposium offers an opportunity for museum professionals as well as interested scientists and researchers to exchange views and share experiences and also discuss opportunities and challenges to achieve the goals.
